Just a quick peek at some shots to come in the next Gusto Magazine. I went down to Silver Moon tonight to get a peek of the night life for an assignment and was blown away by Eric Toffefson and his band of stellar musicians, including Tim Schroeder, big bro to a long time friend of mine, Sarah. Under mildly threatening skies, Christian and Andrea sweetly said their vows, honored Andrea's home state by exchanging leis and were surrounded by all they love most. We were so lucky that the clouds just looked dramatic and didn't actually open up an pour on the happy couple and their family. We had a lot of fun taking these rock shots and it took some acrobatics to climb up onto the rock, not fall into the roaring river and not drop my camera into the water! So grateful for my trusted assistant, Mike. :)

Spring in the Southwest | Albuquerque + Santa Fe

Four day trip down to the Southwest. A first time for me. Loved it there. The light was so beautiful and the buildings are inspiring. We missed the world's largest pow wow by one day - that would have been some fantastic images! Next time. Looking forward to a possible trip to New Orleans this fall....will keep you posted!

I went out with Deb and Bo of Little Fish to do some promo shots for the Sisters Folk Festival. They have such a great sound and taking pictures of them was a complete joy. I loved the look that Bo would give Deb - complete love. It's so fun to be around people who are are so gifted musically and who share that gift with each other. Around 7:20, the light shifted and softened and I snapped away as they played an impromptu concert down by the Deschutes River.

After getting rained out at Dillon Falls on Saturday, we set up another session downtown Bend, Oregon. There were thunderstorms all day today and the weather looked pretty ify when we met at Bellatazza for the shoot. As big drops started falling, Andrea whipped out this great red umbrella that I LOVED! Thanks again for spending the time with me, you two! Can't wait for your wedding!

This Thanksgiving, Mike and I went to Lake Tahoe to visit with his family. There was no snow to be found at Tahoe this year except for in the peaks of the Sierra Nevadas. Mike and I took a ten mile hike and walk off some of the turkey dinner and got so see some gorgeous countryside.

Our puppy, Sunny is really growing fast. From a little 8 pound 6 week old puppy, she has sprouted into a full grown 60 pound Lab. Always happy, sometimes sleepy and definately taking up most of the bed. Oh well, we love her anyway!

How do I sum up such a fantastic trip? From natural hotsprings on my 30th birthday, pina coladas at sunset, to ziplining through the cloud forest, to snorkeling in the ocean, to hiking by beautiful waterfalls and GETTING ENGAGED!!!! Really, the trip of a lifetime.

This has to to be one of my favorite shoots for Bend Living so far! I drove out to the Lark Gardens last Saturday and met with the owners, Lita and Roy. I walked into a beautiful kitchen with herbs spread out over the huge wooden block table filling the center of the room. The smells of rosemary, basil, and thyme were so fragrant, it was making me drool from hunger!!! Lita and Bernie, the lady who makes all the vinegars, showed me the process they use to make their gourmet brand that is marketed nationally now. Then Lita herself gave me a tour around their grounds and her personal art studio. It was a lovely afternoon and I inspired by all the creativity in their lives. This was one of my favorite weddings so far! I was so touched by the ceremony that joined two amazing people. With all their friends and family gathered in an intimate semi-circle around the chuppah, Ari and Lisa exchanged the most original and beautiful vows I have ever heard. Also, their cousin read an amazing passage from Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" on mariage that will always stand out to me.

Fun French wedding on the coast of Normandy in a tiny fishing village. The bride and groom were married in the same 1,000 year old church as the bride's great-grandparents. French weddings are a bit different than American in that they only have adult two witnesses and the rest of the wedding party is all children!
